I gave myself a special gift for the New Year ~
time to spend on my sculptures! I have not worked on them
for at least a year, due to the fact that I am always painting~
but I decided that they give me so much joy to create that I
"have to" schedule time to work on them. They are that special
thing that helps preserve my little bit of sanity. :)

Yes, look again at the size!
This is a commissioned painting that I just completed this past week.
It was made to fit over a fireplace mantle. She wanted two women at the
art museum and if I could include some sculpture and a view of the sky
through the trees. This was the result.
It fit perfectly and she said that it felt like it had always been there.
The funny thing for me was that after it was hung and we sat back to view
it...... I realized that the window light source in the house was coming
in from the right, the same as in the painting. So it was a bit surreal,
that it looked like the light coming in was creating the shading
in the painting. Really fun!!
