"Mammals"
8" x 11"x 3/4" Book Art Sculpture
This is a book sculpture about Mammals.
I sealed it shut and carved to in order to upcycle and create
a "new" way of seeing an old outdated and unwanted book.
It takes a lot of time, patience and a steady hand going just one
page at a time to reveal its hidden treasures. Nothing is moved from
its original location in the book.
When completed, it is sealed to protect it from the elements and can
be hung on the wall or placed in a small book stand.
I love books and I hope you enjoy this new medium!

"The Dolls"

This is an image of "Missy" with some of her favorite dolls.
She started collecting them at a very early age, sometimes
finding old forgotten or broken dolls that she would take
great care to clean and repair.
By the time she reached her adulthood she had become so skilled that
she started the first doll hospital in the village Appletree Hollow.
During her later years she became famous for creating her own
beautiful and charming felt dolls.

"Winter Olympics"

Sven was born in the Arctic but he and his family relocated to
Alaska during his early years. Most of his family were expert
swimmers but he preferred the high mountain snow and began
training in ski jumping for the Olympics at an early age.
Although he never won a medal he became known for his skills
and patience in teaching others.

"Bear With Me"

Bob was born at the edge of a large forest and his
father was a lumberjack. He never followed in his
father's footsteps but loved the forest where he
spent most of his time. During the winter hibernation,
he could be found writing about his adventures. He
was a gentle soul and most would say he was very
timid except he never went without his favorite
red suspenders.
